Unique Abilities Troops are the core component of Girl Scouts of Greater New York’s (GSGNY) Girl Scouts for All program, designed to welcome and support members with physical, developmental, cognitive, intellectual, and/or sensory disabilities. Unique Abilities Troops are open to all Girl Scouts, and give members the opportunity to learn self-empowerment, practice social-emotional skills, make new friends, and of course, earn Girl Scout badges!
GSGNY provides those interested in volunteering as Unique Abilities Troop Leaders with a built-in support system. Our staff ensures you have all the resources needed to provide Girl Scouts with an unforgettable experience, including:
On-boarding and volunteer training
Badge activity modification guides
Special development workshops
Support from our on-staff Accessibility & Inclusion Lead Specialist
To get involved, email customercare@girlscoutsnyc.org and use subject line "Volunteer with Unique Abilities Troops".
Whether you can give a few days, a few weeks, or a few months, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun!
