Each year at the Women of Distinction benefit, Girl Scouts of Greater New York recognizes one Ambassador Girl Scout who embodies courage, confidence, and character as the Future Woman of Distinction.
Our 2023 Future Woman of Distinction is Hana Prokop. A senior at Hunter College High School, Hana has been a Girl Scout for 9 years. She is passionate about education, leadership, and empowering the next generation of women in finance and beyond. She created an educational website on the importance of cybersecurity as her Silver Award project, and she hopes to increase financial literacy among youth and encourage economic curiosity through her Gold Award: “Making Cents of Finance.” At school, Hana serves in the leadership of two finance-focused clubs (Rock the Street, Wall Street and Females in Finance) and as Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook. In addition, she is a Level 10 competitive gymnast for Gotham Gymnastics.
The Future Woman of Distinction will be presented with her award and a $5,000 scholarship for higher education at the Women of Distinction Breakfast on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She will address our audience of 300+ attendees and receive her award along with this year’s Women of Distinction. Additionally, each of the four finalists also receives their own $2,500 scholarship for higher education pursuits.
