The Future Woman of Distinction Award is given to one Ambassador Girl Scout in New York City each year who represents the ideals inherent in Girl Scouting through her participation in and commitment to community service, high academic achievement, leadership skills and ability to communicate the value of Girl Scouting.
The Britenstool Scholarship is endowed in honor of Dr. Harry Britenstool for Girl Scouts of Greater New York. It is designed for those girls demonstrating academic success, a dedication to serving their communities, and career goals oriented towards medicine, science or citizenship.
This college scholarship is available to any registered Girl Scout ages 14 to 17 interested in pursuing a career in the arts, education, civil service, STEM or the nonprofit sector. The winner will be awarded the scholarship no more than one time.
