For girls entering grades 1-4
Urban Day Camp provides opportunities for elementary school-aged girls to explore the natural world, enjoy the health benefits of the outdoors, and learn about ways to support environmental efforts in their communities—all while having the time of their lives!
This program reinforces science concepts and combats summer learning loss in exciting and engaging ways. Every day girls will participate in hands-on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) projects, and go on unique excursions to parks, beaches, and environmentally-related outdoors spaces throughout the five boroughs.
As campers, girls develop strong leadership skills: practicing teamwork, taking risks, and trying new things! As adults, we know these skills and experiences are essential to girls becoming confident and independent.
“She was a very shy child but I find that now she is taking a leadership role, especially with the younger [siblings].”
“I’d give the camp 100 out of 100. My daughter loves it, she loves every aspect, she loves everything about it.”
“It’s the best thing I’ve done in my life.”
“Camp helped me become better because I got to do things that I never did before.”
“April is one of the many girls whom enjoyed a summer jammed with learning — and the most important lesson, respect: respect of self, others, and our environment. April is forever changed!, Thank you, thank you, thank you.” — Principal at PS107
