STEM Day at New York Hall of Science
16 Mar

Bring your Brownies and Juniors to an exciting STEM-filled day at the New York Hall of Science!

To register, download a FLYER and RELEASE FORM.

AIR DEMO: Watch NYSCI staff use air to crush, and launch, objects while learning how we’ve taken advantage of it in our everyday lives.

SCIENCE DESIGN: Create your own design - such as a magic box, kaleidoscope, or softball design - to take home.

RAD SCIENCE: Find out how the physics of gravity, force, velocity, and balance make radical tricks possible in action sports.

ROCKET PARK/SEARCH FOR LIFE EXPERIENCE: See rockets fired 30 feet into the air, and learn about the history of space travel. Then discover the future of space exploration in NYSCI’s Search for Life Exhibition.

SCIENCE PLAYGROUND: Explore the scientific principles of motion, balance, sound, and sight, and learn about the sun, wind, and water while playing with fog machines, a giant lever, an Archimedes screw, and more.

STEM ACTIVITY CENTER: Discover a whole new world through Math, Chemistry, Nano Technology, and sports-focused activities led by STEM-explainers! Try out our new STEM Program-in-a-Box activities, build super structures with dowels and rubber bands, and take part in a C3 workstation featuring climate change demos, and prototyping of new C3 probes and LED vests that can turn Scouts into master experimenters.

DESIGN CHALLENGE: Learn what engineers do, and use everyday materials to solve design challenges - such as building a popsicle stick house strong enough to withstand an earthquake.

3D MOVIE: Watch an out-of-this-world 3D movie! Films under consideration include Legends of Flight, Space Junk, The Last Reef, and Wild Ocean.
