“Breaking the Code” Camp for Middle & High School Girls

Lights, Camera, Coding!

Use code to create, customize, and share videos!

Our coding program “Breaking the Code”, is now open to current and future Girl Scouts! Weeklong camps are located at Microsoft Offices in Times Square, Google Offices in Chelsea, and our headquarters in downtown Manhattan, with girls all over New York City having the opportunity to show their creativity with code.

Girls write, direct, and act in a film that matters to THEM while learning to enhance it with code (adding “Snapchat”-style filters, text, graphics, etc).

During this one-week summer camp, girls will:

  • Increase confidence in themselves and their abilities
  • Advocate for personal causes - using code to amplify and advance their message
  • Add coding to their tech toolkit & see themselves as “technology people”

"Break" the Code & Unlock Movie Magic

Visits to tech companies and connections to women industry leaders, helps tackle the issue that half of all girls feel STEM isn’t a typical career path for girls* by combining coding + filmmaking + leadership skills to help girls “see themselves there” in STEM studies and careers.

We are building girls of courage, confidence, and character, equipped to be innovative leaders of the future by completing STEM projects relevant to who they are today!
