Girl Scouts of Greater New York is monitoring local and national
cases of the novel coronavirus and are actively evaluating the
on-going situation and ensure our staff, volunteers, and girls are
prepared with information and official guidance needed to stay safe
during all Girl Scout activities.
Please follow updates and FAQs below for Girl Scouts of Greater New York members.
On Troop Meetings:
Leading in-person activities during COVID-19 is optional. Volunteers should first decide if they are comfortable offering in-person troop meeting before proceeding.
At this time GSGNY prohibits indoor Girl Scout meetings or activities, including private homes.
Meetings should include a group of 12 girls or less with a minimum of 3 approved and background cleared adult Girl Scout registered members, including at least one trained co-leader.
GSGNY troops may meet in person outdoors by submitting an Outdoor Troop Meeting Form 10 days prior to meeting. Confirmation will be sent within 5 business days.
All in-person council programs in NYC and at Camp Kaufmann are cancelled indefinitely.
On Cookie Rewards:
Thank you for your patience as we researched the best way to deliver
rewards into the hands of the Girl Scouts who worked so hard to earn
them while keeping everyone involved safe. After careful
investigation, we came up with the below process.
In the coming weeks, Cookie Rewards will be shipped to the Service Unit Cookie Managers as per usual, who will arrange a safe and socially distant pickup for your troop. In the event that your Service Unit Cookie Manager is not able to perform these duties safely, another generous volunteer has stepped up to fill that role and will be in contact with you.
Again, thank you for your patience and THANK YOU to everyone who worked so diligently to make the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Program a success!
On the GSGNY office:
Our current (earliest) return to the office date is Monday, January 4, 2020. We will continue to follow the guidance of local government and public health officials and will continue to provide updates as this date approaches.
The best way to get your question answered promptly is to email Customer Care.
On The Shop at Wall Street:
The Shop at Wall Street is closed until further notice.
