Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) in NYC

Updated: June 11, 2020, 1:00 p.m.

Girl Scouts of Greater New York is monitoring the recent local and national cases of the novel coronavirus and are currently working to evaluate the situation and ensure our staff, volunteers, and girls are prepared with information and official guidance needed to stay safe during all Girl Scout activities.

All in-person Girl Scout activities including troop meetings, programs, social events, and cookie booth sales are cancelled indefinitely.

Please follow updates and FAQs below for Girl Scouts of Greater New York members.

On Troop Meetings:

In-person troop meetings are cancelled until further notice. However, you may hold virtual meetings via Skype or Zoom.

We will be sharing resources to continue your girls’ Girl Scout experience online and at home in the coming weeks.

On Troop Trips:

All troop trips scheduled through Summer 2020 are cancelled – troops with previously approved trips will be notified to this effect. GSGNY is not accepting trip applications at this time.

On Programs:

All in-person council programs in NYC and at Camp Kaufmann are cancelled indefinitely.

On Cookie Booths:

All cookie booths are cancelled.

In the meantime, help girls leverage their Digital Cookie® business to meet their goals. And remember that Gift of Caring purchases have no shipping fee and are tax deductible.

On Sweeps:

Your final cookie payment is due on June 23. On this date, we will sweep 100% of the amount you owe council.

If your current balance is zero or negative, we will NOT sweep your account. Troop proceeds will remain with your troop. Please refer to the Sales Report tab in eBudde for your troop’s current balance and proceeds information. It is important to check eBudde to ensure that Girl Scouts of Greater New York (GSGNY) has your current troop banking information.

If your banking information is not accurate, please submit an updated ACH Debit Authorization form to Betty Brandt. GSGNY is unable to process ACH payments to personal bank accounts and we are unable to accept paper checks this year.

On Cupboards:

All cupboards will remain closed.

On Digital Cookie®:

Girls can continue selling and accruing rewards via Digital Cookie® until the cookie season ends on June 14. Designing or enhancing her Digital Cookie page is a great indoor activity for your Girl Scout.

Check out our Digital Cookie Resources to guide you and your girl(s). Remember that Gift of Caring donations are NOT subject to shipping charges and are tax deductible!

On Cookie Rewards:

Rewards will continue to accrue on the digital platform until the cookie season officially ends June 14. Experiential rewards that aren’t able to proceed as scheduled will be rescheduled.

On the GSGNY office:

Based on Governor Cuomo's decision to extend "NYS On Pause" for effective social distancing measures. Our current (earliest) return to the office date is Tuesday, September 8. We will continue to follow the guidance of local government and public health officials and will continue to provide updates as this date approaches.

The best way to get your question answered promptly is to email Customer Care.

On The Shop at Wall Street:

The Shop at Wall Street is closed until further notice.
