Updated: April 7, 2020, 9:00 a.m.

Girl Scouts of Greater New York is monitoring the recent local and national cases of the novel coronavirus and are currently working to evaluate the situation and ensure our staff, volunteers, and girls are prepared with information and official guidance needed to stay safe during all Girl Scout activities.

With immediate effect, all in-person Girl Scout activities including troop meetings, programs, social events, and cookie booth sales MUST stop. This policy will be in place until at least April 20, 2020.

Please follow updates and FAQs below for Girl Scouts of Greater New York members.

On Troop Meetings:

In-person troop meetings are cancelled until April 20. However, you may hold virtual meetings via Skype or Zoom.

We will be sharing resources to continue your girls’ Girl Scout experience online and at home in the coming weeks.

On Troop Trips:

All troop trips scheduled during the month of March are cancelled – troops with previously approved trips will be notified to this effect. GSGNY is not accepting trip applications at this time.

On Programs:

All council programs in NYC and at Camp Kaufmann are cancelled until April 20.

On Cookie Booths:

Cookie booths through April 20 are cancelled. More details around cookies coming soon.

In the meantime, help girls leverage their Digital Cookie® business to meet their goals. And remember that Gift of Caring purchases have no shipping fee and are tax deductible.

On Sweeps:

All ACH sweeps are postponed until further notice. Once in-person selling resumes, we will inform volunteers of an official end-date for the cookie season and the date for one final sweep, which will take place at least one week after the cookie season ends.

On Cupboards:

At this time all cupboards will remain closed until at least May 1.

On Digital Cookie®:

Girls can continue selling and accruing rewards via Digital Cookie® until the cookie season ends (TBA). Designing or enhancing her Digital Cookie page is a great indoor activity for your Girl Scout.

Check out our Digital Cookie Resources to guide you and your girl(s). Remember that Gift of Caring donations are NOT subject to shipping charges and are tax deductible!

On Cookie Rewards:

Rewards will continue to accrue on the digital platform until the cookie season officially ends (TBD). Experiential rewards that aren’t able to proceed as scheduled will be rescheduled.

On Cookie Inventory:

Whether or not cookie season ends up being significantly affected, we will be putting policies in place to ensure no one incurs personal or troop financial hardship due to the public health situation this year.

On the GSGNY office:

Based on Governor Cuomo's decision to extend "NYS On Pause" for effective social distancing measures. Our current (earliest) return to the office date is Monday, May 4. We will continue to follow the guidance of local government and public health officials and will continue to provide updates as this date approaches.

The best way to get your question answered promptly is to email Customer Care.

On The Shop at Wall Street:

The Shop at Wall Street is closed until further notice.
