VIDEO: GSLI Prepares Today's Girls to Become Tomorrow's Leaders
Since its launch earlier this year, the Girl Scout Leadership Institute of New York City (GSLI-NYC) is already transforming the lives of dozens of young women by providing them with opportunities to develop the skills that will help them become tomorrow’s business innovators.
Recently Helene Lerner, the founder of Workingwomen.com, one of the world’s leading websites for career women, met three of our Girl Scouts to discuss their experiences with this groundbreaking program.
GSLI-NYC, offered in partnership with Barnard College’s Athena Center for Leadership Studies, launched in July 2013 as a pilot program for a diverse group of 50 high school girls from the five boroughs, and will ultimately serve 100 young women every year.
Through an innovative curriculum that combines the best of the Girl Scout leadership experience with the Athena CORE10 standards, along with intimate interactions with role models and mentors, GSLI-NYC prepares today’s girls to become tomorrow’s leaders.
