Girl Scouts is about sharing the friendship and power of girls and women
together. Volunteering is a great way to join in the fun!

Girls Scout of Greater New York volunteers are a diverse group.  They are college volunteers working on a community-action project, parent volunteers ready for an outdoor adventure with their daughter’s group, or any responsible adult volunteer (female or male, who have passed the necessary screening process) looking to make a difference in a girl’s life.

You don't need a degree, title or experience to affect NYC Girl Scouts. When you volunteer time, talent, education and abilities, the girls benefit… and so do you.

Our Volunteers Have Choices, Too.
As a volunteer, you have the flexibility to tailor your involvement to fit your schedule and lifestyle. You can volunteer behind the scenes or even from your council office, instead of volunteering directly with girls. You also have the option of partnering with girls throughout a membership year or committing to just a few weeks or months.

Exciting Ways to Get Involved.

Troop: The Girl Scouts of Greater New York has troops of every level meeting across the five boroughs. As a troop leader, you will work with a small group of girls in your local neighborhood on a regular basis throughout the school year, guide girls as they earn badges and awards, take exciting field trips, and more!

Series: If you’re looking to make a short-term commitment, get involved though our Series programs. This option allows you to share your hobbies or experiences to help guide girls on a path to become strong, confident leaders. Sessions take place at least once a week for approximately 4-10 weeks.

Events: During our one-day events held throughout the year, you will interact with the girls as they earn badges and explore new things. Events take place primarily on Saturdays for about 4-5 hours and focus on specific badges or topics.

Camp: Nature enthusiasts can volunteer at camp to help girls explore the great outdoors and connect with the environment. Camp Kaufmann is located in Holmes, NY, about 60 miles north of NYC.
