Do you see yourself as a marine biologist?
A television anchor? Or perhaps an author?

If you’re in middle school or high school, the Girl Scouts is the place to be.

Girl Scouts opens doors and lets you explore your dreams, strengthen your leadership skills, have an amazing time, and make great friends. And the best part is you get to decide what you want and then we help you get there.

Take Action Leadership Summit

We are proud to present the Take Action Leadership Summit: Discover Your Voice, Change the World! This day will include keynote speakers, youth-led workshops, and a networking resource fair of local organizations. We will also feature a special dancing and “girl talk” session facilitated by Femcho*, a local girl empowerment organization! The goal of this day is to focus broadly on the topic of “leadership,” while preparing Cadette, Senior and Ambassador teen Girl Scouts for their highest awards, as well as developing their leadership skills for the workforce and higher education!

Date: Saturday, May 31st, 2014 from 10am-5pm
Location: St. Francis College, 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201
Cost: $15.00

We need to hear YOUR voice at our Summit! We are currently accepting workshop proposals from teen Girl Scouts. Click HERE to submit a proposal.

Leadership Development

As a Girl Scout Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador, you get the opportunity to gain the confidence, knowledge and expertise needed to guide younger girls; to connect with other teen Girl Scouts from around the council; and to develop your leadership skills in a fun and meaningful way.

Earn your Leader in Action Award by actively assisting Girl Scout Brownies on their journey and sharing your savvy and talents with them. You can earn the Volunteer in Training award by mentoring a group of younger girls; or the Program Aide award for becoming proficient in a specific area of interest and sharing this knowledge with younger girls in a troop or group setting.

Awards
Awards represent the Girl Scout’s highest honors.  Many of our very own Girl Scouts have turned their Award-related projects into lifelong passions or even full-time careers.

Destinations
Destinations enables girls to share in travel adventures with like-minded girls from across the country. These unforgettable adventures range from two days to three weeks.

As part of Destinations you can:

  • Visit our world centers in Mexico, India, London and Switzerland
  • Spend a week learning photography alongside professionals in the Eastern Sierra Mountains
  • Go on an Andes adventure to learn about Incan history and meaningful service
  • Work alongside marine biologists or assist at a camp for girls with disabilities.
