Financial Literacy

Leaves and Badges

The Daisy Financial Literacy leaves introduce girls to coins and bills and their worth, as well as the concepts of needs and wants, saving, and helping others.  These leaves include Money Counts and Making Choices.

By earning their Financial Literacy I badges, they learn the cost of common items, how to make change, the basics of running a business, and how to create a budget and plan for their educational future.  Included in these badges are Money Manager (Brownies), Business Owner (Juniors), Budgeting (Cadettes), Financing My Future (Seniors) and On My Own (Ambassadors).

Financial Literacy II badges expose girls to the concepts of helping others by giving money, items, or time; looking deeper into needs versus wants; being a safe and savvy online shopper; making big purchases; establishing good credit; and borrowing money.  These badges include Philanthropist (Brownies), Savvy Shopper (Juniors), Comparison Shopping (Cadettes), Buying Power (Seniors), and Good Credit (Ambassadors).

The Financial Literacy III badge, Financing My Dreams (Cadettes), shows girls how to finance their big dreams for the future.
